Obviously, most people would put one straight in a mug and tip hot water over it. The result, is a very weak, clear, but not unpleasant tasting beverage.
Granted that any make of decaff coffee tastes like hot water, I was expecting at least some colour.
Then a friend, who had previous experience with similar products (I think he must have worked in catering) suggested that I open them up and pour the brown powdery stuff in the mug and then add hot water.
The first attempt at opening was not successful (the brown powered can cause stains) but then I noticed a little nick at one end. Using this, along with carefully placed fingers allows for easy opening, without the use of sharp instruments.
One final tip. Once opened and the brown powder added to the mug, the little bag can be discarded, it is no longer needed in the process.
The result is a not...
just enough for a cup
I like to have a couple of these in my bag for when I go to friends in an evening who do not drink Decaff coffee.
