Irish Breakfast Luxury Loose Leaf Tea 100g is the most popular items .It may surprise you to learn that the people of Ireland drink more tea per capita than any other population on Earth. It's true. In fact your average Irish citizen drinks about 6 cups per day. What's more, the cups they drink are so strong that you could almost stand a spoon upright in them. Indeed, the Irish prefer what some might call a sturdy cup of tea.
In order to provide the Irish with blends this strong, tea blenders supplying the market buy up top quality seasonal output from Assam and Kenya. The Assam teas are picked from the top production of the Second Flush, a period of high growth in the month of June. The Kenyans selected are usually those produced in either February or August when the most flavourful leaf is grown. The Assam component of this Irish blend gives the cup a strong, deep malty character with heavy layers of astringency that dry the mouth, feeling almost as if you could chew the tea. (This is similar to the way a very dry wine can make you pucker.) The Kenyan teas provide a bright coppery colour with profound floral notes that add a complex depth to the cup.
As with most teas, the longer you brew this tea the stronger it becomes. If you're Irish, you'll let this tea brew a good long time and then add a wee splash of milk. Milk, in the case of a tea this strong cancels out the tannins and diminishes the bitterness that can characterize some strong teas. Debate rages from Dublin to Tipperary as to when milk should be added - before the tea or after? The milk-first camp argues that milk added after the hot tea will scald and should therefore be added first so it can warm as the tea is poured. Milk-last devotees argue that the only way to properly measure the amount to add is to pour it last. (Non-users of milk regard the whole issue as quite silly.)
Either way, t'is a strong blend. Enjoy in the morning with toast, or a traditional Irish "fry-up!". Irish Breakfast Luxury Loose Leaf Tea 100g is masterly or even a reputable products.

Irish Breakfast Luxury Loose Leaf Tea 100g Customer Reviews - Average Rating :3.5 out of 5 Stars
My favourite
I bought the Irish, English, Scottish and Everyday Strong Breakfast teas from Simpli-Special. This is definitely my favourite after a few weeks of drinking them. I add a ton of milk but this still tastes really strong. Great stuff!
A very average black tea
Very disappointed with this tea. It's very ordinary; almost bland in taste. It is not a well mixed Irish breakfast tea IMHO and I qualify that by pointing out I am Irish, living in Ireland and have been drinking tea for more years than I care to remember. Having said all that, there is nothing wrong with this tea; it's perfectly palatable but unfortunately very forgettable also. It came very well packaged and was dispatched promptly. Hence i give it 3stars but I'd look elsewhere if you are looking for a dark, earthy, full-bodied irish breakfast tea.
Simply the best
I have been buying Simpli-special's tea for a year now, and I find it hard to believe that anyone can refer to the Irish Breakfast they sell as a dissapointment.
Simpli-special's tea is indeed of deep amber colour, with lots of body and flavour. I was hooked on Irish Breakfast first with Twinnings, then with Taylor's of Harrogate (because a very kind gentleman suggested it to me when I was queueing at Wholefoods in the US, thanks, if you read this!!), and now Simpli-special's, which is by far the best, especially if you compare it with Twinnings' (weak and flavourless in comparison, I'm afraid).
Simpli-special also provides a very good service, either through ebay.co.uk, their own webpage ([...] also in 500g packages), and now amazon.co.uk, apparently. It arrives quickly, in an excellent package, very fresh.
Believe me, I'm very picky both with the quality of the tea I drink and with the service I receive, and this product and seller get the highest points in my scale,...
