Great Disappointment
Having come across Dammann Earl Grey while on holiday in France, I was very keen to source it on my return. The tea I had in France was truly beautiful - quite the best Earl Grey I have ever tasted - so I was prepared to pay what some may consider an absurdly high price for it. This tea did not begin to compare with my previous experience - I don't like strong tea, but this was ridiculously weak, and two teabags were needed to make a reasonable cup of tea. So what started out as absurdly expensive now became doubly so, and it still wasn't a great cup of tea. I can't possibly recommend this product.
The best tea in the world
I am a huge fan of Earl Grey tea and this French product is by far the best product I have come across.
The taste is smooth and silky, even when the bag is left in. The whole-leaf tea is of excellent quality and the nylon mesh bag, though non-biodegradable, allows the flavour to infuse perfectly. Infusing for 4-5 minutes gives the optimal taste, but a shorter brewing time also produces a light and delicate flavour.
Unlike other poorer quality loose leafs, and even most more expensive brands, there is absolutely no bitterness or acrid aftertaste. It is perfect taken without milk and the quality of this product really shines.
Very pleased Amazon has begun to stock this! An excellent product and for the quality a very reasonable price.
