I don't usually add a review on products I've purchased but thought I would on this occasion to balance out the 2 negative reviews. I'm revisiting this product as I'm just running low on the bottle I bought a while back and am buying some more (without the pump this time as that can be reused). I drink black coffee and for me the flavour of the Sweetbird hazelnut syrup matches the products used by famous high street coffe shops.
Yum - I would recommend this product to others!
The thing with artificial sweeteners...
I LOVE flavoured coffee, particularly hazelnut but was fed up of not getting out to my favourite coffee shop enough and so thought I'd try to recreate the experience at home with my friends by buying this. I limit my sugar intake so bought the no sugar one, and it arrived quickly.
I had my first cup of coffee with said syrup and was a little disappointed. It tasted too 'artificial' or false and not how I was expecting. There was something a little plasticky about it. Maybe this was because there are two major coffee syrup brands, Sweetbird and Monin and I should have ordered Monin instead.
However, I read the back of the bottle for ingredients, and it also contains SODIUM BENZOATE. This in itself really put me off, as there is pleanty of sodium benzoate in my Boots shower gel and it made no sense to me as to why they need to put the stuff in food. ? I know that you can get 'acceptable' sweeteners and artificial additives as well as harmful ones, but I just wasn't...

At last something that I can add to my coffee that is sugar free WELL DONE SWEETBIRD please do more and show tassimo there is a need for sugar free
