Dilute to taste
This coconut water is truly lovely - slightly sweet, and full flavoured. Really good quality coconut water and as near to the fresh from the nut water as you can get. But I know it is not to everyone's taste, and if you are not comfortable with the flavour but want the health benefits (of which there are many) then I suggest a little dilution is in order.
I mixed a 50-50 blend with water in my usual sports bottle, and added a squeeze of lemon (for extra zing). This made a truly delicious and refreshing drink, perfect for sporting rehydration. By diluting you also make the coconut water go further, which helps costs wise. Also it is best chilled.
The original bottle is a little leaky, so I keep that one in the fridge, and top up my own sports bottle as and when I need to.
(Another nice way to use it is to make coconut water ice cubes and add to a cheeky Malibu!)
Really lovely, and highly recommended.
Not what I was expecting...
I'm sorry but I was expecting a drink which tasted a bit coconutty and really this tasted like drinking Doritos. Nobody I knew liked the taste when I passed them a bottle. If you know what Coconut water tastes like already and you love it, this is probably a good product but if you don't and you're just buying it because you like coconuts, it's probably not for you.
Not for me
I don't want to score this low as the health benefits are enormous and the product is very well presented, however...
Setting aside the undoubted hydration benefits of coconut water, I just can't bare the taste of it.
I ordered these via Amazon Vine and I tried it a few times. Chilled, room temp, warm, gulped it down straight after a gym session all to no avail.
No one in our house liked it so I passed it on to my mum as she said she loved it, only for my dad to confess over a few pints that she only took it to make me feel better! Hahaha... Crazy stuff.
