Not my cup of tea.
After quite a while of being dissatisfied with the tea available in the shops these days, I went through a phase a few months ago of buying different teas from specialist suppliers. This Ceylon tea from Tea Makers of London was one that I tried.
I see that the first reviewer also went through a tea buying phase and found this tea the most satisfying and subtle of those he tried. Maybe it was too subtle for me and maybe all Ceylon teas have this subtle quality. I didn't find it at all satisfying. It wasn't bad, but I was expecting something special at this price and it just tasted very ordinary to me.
Among the other teas that I tried was the The Tea Makers of London First Flush Darjeeling Black Loose Leaf Tea 125 g Caddy, which I liked very much and did find to be "something special", compared with darjeeling from...
superb and subtle tea
I went mad at Christmas and bought about ten different loose teas to try. This was probably the one whose flavour I found most subtle and satisfying. It's a matter of taste, of course, but I'm a Yorkshireman and I use only stainless steel and porcelain equipment.
It's a gorgeous tea.
Very disappointed.
This states itself to be a breakfast tea which in my understanding is meant to be a strong brew with a good colour. This is a weak tea, low on flavour and colour.
