Silver Needle White Tea Chinese Top Quality (O)- 50gr is my personal favorite products .Silver Needle is a top grade tea picked in the Fujian province of China.
The tea is produced by picking fully developed single "ready to open" buds covered in silvery hairs, resulting in the Silver Tip tea when infused. The tea is light yellow in colour with a refreshing taste and aroma.
White teas are produced by slightly fermenting young "fluffy white hair" leaves in a two step process including "withering" to inactivate oxidation followed by drying to deliver a tea with a pale appearance.
Fresh tea leaves contain high levels of Catechins and the White tea process is especially good at preserving these antioxidants. There has therefore been a series of health claims and studies carried out on this topic including studies at Harvard Medical School.
Traditionally the Chinese have also claimed medicinal properties of the White teas, including that they are "refreshing and good for the stomach" and that they can be used to dispel "the heat". They are also claimed to support "the five vital organs".
The tea is packaged in re-sealable tins to retain maximum freshness and aroma.

I cannot recommend!
I have been drinking Silver Needle White tea for some years now and have previously ordered it from Pekoe Tea and Whittards. I thought I would give this vendor a try and was severaly disappointed. Just less than half the contents were Silver Needles - the remainder being other leaves which I presume and certainly hope were tea leaves. Will not, of course, be purchasing from this vendor again.
