Wonderful Tasting, Healthy Tea
In short, a great buy and a healthy drink.
Red tea is generally called Rooibos, Afrikaans for red Bush. This is not only the most common tea from South Africa, but also the only one to be exported in a big way.
It is full of nutritious compounds including vitamins, minerals, including elevated levels of iron, antioxidants, anti-spasmodic, (help digestive problems), and yet has no caffeine and little tannin. Although this has no caffeine it is not marketed as de-caffeinated. It is not de-caffeinated as it has no caffeine to start with.
The procedure of removing caffeine usually involves a process which some experts say is not healthy, (although others say it is healthy), but many authorities do agree that de-caffeinated coffee and tea are not really caffeine free.
One particularly good Rooibos is the smoked tea, which has a distinctive and earthy flavour. A particularly nice one comes from the site below, and they will even send you a free sample...
GOOD CUPPA
This caffeine free tea is really tasty and refreshing (drink without milk). Good price for the bulk buy.
I switched to flavoured teas when I discovered I was lactose intollerant and that I did not like regular tea without milk. This is my favourite of all these.
Redbush tea
For health reasons I have been banned from caffeine, even decaf. This is naturally caffeine free so provides a reasonable alternative to proper tea. I don't have a good sense of taste so it seems fine but I am told that it has a distinct aroma, which my wife is no over fond of! Too bad!
